INDUSTRIES SERVED
Motors are rarely specified by power alone. The same 55 kW motor may need a flameproof frame in a coal preparation plant, an inverter-duty winding on a variable-speed conveyor and a high-slip design on a crusher — so Yaoda Motor builds its range around how the driven equipment and the site environment load the motor, not around a single generic catalogue page.
Industries we serve
- Mining and mineral processing — crushers, conveyors, slurry pumps, screens and fans, including classified dust and gas areas.
- Machinery and OEM equipment — machine tools, packaging lines, mixers and specialist machinery built around an OEM motor specification.
- Power and energy — boiler feed pumps, draught fans, cooling tower fans and auxiliary drives in power and waste-to-energy plants.
- General industrial applications — pumps, compressors, fans, conveyors and process drives across manufacturing plants.
What changes from one industry to the next
Dust, gas and classified areas
Above-ground installations with unclassified dust can use standard IP55 motors with sensible cleaning intervals. Where dust is combustible, or where gas can be present, the frame has to be explosion-protected and certified for the zone — YBX3, YFBX3, YFBX4 and YBVF2 cover gas and dust classifications.
Continuous duty and high power
Compressors, mills and large pumps run for long uninterrupted periods, so efficiency class and thermal margin matter more than first cost. The H355–450 high-power range and the YE4 series are usually specified here.
Variable speed and low-speed cooling
Conveyors, extruders and process lines run over a wide speed range. At low output frequency the shaft-mounted fan loses cooling capacity, so these drives need inverter-duty insulation and often an independent cooling fan — see the variable-speed selection guide.
Ambient conditions and service access
High ambient temperature, humidity, corrosive atmosphere and limited maintenance access all push the specification upwards: derated output, higher IP protection, anti-condensation heaters, and bearings chosen for the duty position of the machine.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a standard motor in a dusty plant?
In unclassified dust, yes — a standard IP55 motor with regular cleaning and clear cooling paths is normal practice. Where the dust is combustible and the area is classified, an explosion-protected motor is a safety requirement, not a preference.
Which motor is used for a crusher?
The drive is usually a high-power low-voltage motor such as the YE3 H355–450 range, or a high-voltage machine for larger frames. Starting torque, flywheel inertia and the starting method have to be confirmed together with the motor supplier.
Do you supply motors for replacement of an existing installation?
Yes. Send the existing nameplate, mounting drawing and shaft dimensions and the motor can be matched on frame, mounting and shaft so that the replacement drops into the existing baseplate and coupling.
Matching a motor to an existing installation
Replacement is the most common industrial motor enquiry, and it is usually decided by geometry rather than by power. Frame size, mounting arrangement, shaft diameter and length, keyway, terminal box position and cooling method all have to line up with the baseplate and coupling that are already installed, otherwise the “cheaper” motor becomes an expensive modification job.
Send the existing nameplate photograph together with the mounting and shaft drawing, and Yaoda will confirm whether a standard frame matches or whether a modified shaft, foot position or terminal box is required. For OEM programmes the same information is used to fix the specification once and repeat it across production batches.
